April Bloom Day

Here is what is blooming in my garden this month.  There are lots of tulips in bloom and a variety I didn’t plan – tulips just seem to appear don’t they?  But certainly mine don’t compare to the Tulip Festival I was at on Monday.  I really wanted to bring some back with me but I wasn’t up for illegal tulip smuggling and the possibility of getting strip searched over some bulbs.  The border guards do know how crazy us gardeners are.

Here is are rest of the blooms.  Hover over the photos to see the names and click the thumbnail to see a larger version.  Enjoy!

Very nice! You’re so lucky to have so many blooms already. Ours will catch up in a week or so. :)

Beautiful blooms! Are we not able to bring bulbs back across the border?

You have a great collection going there. The epimedium is one I’m not familiar with at all. It looks like one of those striking small flowers that really rewards you when you take the time to look closely at it. Very nice.

Your pictures and garden are always beautiful. Looks like your blooms are a couple weeks ahead of mine! Crazy. I’m planning a visit to the tulip festival next weekend!

You have Such a lot growing and flowering. I’m sure it will be at least a month or more before my garden catches up :)

It certainly looks like spring in your neck of the woods. Lovely photos.

    Thanks everyone!

James, yes, the bloom is tiny and faced down so you have to really look to see it – but worth it.

Laura, I thought that bulbs were prohibited – as are plants and animals – but do you know differently? Oh, how I would love to bring in bulbs!

My, my, my, you West Coasters have an unfair advantage on Blooms Day. Wow. And our spring is heating up so quickly here, we won’t have anything left by May 15th. Lovely display!
