  5. That is so cool! I should have planted intentionally green tomatoes, since ours are so long in ripening. :)

  6. The picture looks good. But I will take a nice juicy red tomato anytime.

  7. I’ve never seen a Green Zebra Tomato Before, Thanks for sharing this with us.

  8. How did yours taste? I found mine to be kind of mealy.

  9. Wow! That tomato looks stunning on the white background! Was it just as yummy?

  10. The green zebra tomato stays green – it gets a bit more yellow as it ripens though. I love the flavour – it’s crisp and bright with very mild acidity. It’s certainly one of my favs.

  11. Dan – not mealy at all – they are beautiful eating tomatoes.

  12. Nice tomato.

  13. A good joke of nature.

  14. I have green zebra for the first time. They are very green and a lime green stripe . I cannot tell if it’s ripe not very big like a mid size peach and lots of them.when can I expect to see them ripen or what are the signs to look for

    Please help!

  15. Hi Seb, the size sounds just right, they are a mid-sized tomato in my experience. The colour should be green with yellow stripes, yours’ sound like the need a bit more time. Test them by feel also, a ripe tomato has a bit of give, not hard like an unripe tomato, and not squishy like an over-ripe tomato. If you have lots, pick one every once and a while to get a feel of them. But wait until you get the yellow stripes and you’ll be rewarded with the most delightful tomato flavour! Good luck :)

  16. Thanks for your reply, I’m patiently waiting.

    Thanks

  17. Oh my GOD this is the best tomatoe ever
So sweet, tangy, sour all at the same time.
    The riper the better
Will never omit form my garden again.
Mixed in a red tomatoe salad slices with buffalo mazzarella it’s too die for!

    Sebastian

  18. Sebastian, It’s wonderful that you have found this new tomato! I feel the same way about it…the sad news is that I mixed up my seeds and started black zebra instead of green zebra this year – they shocked me when they ripened black and red stripes. They are tasty too, but certainly no comparison to our favourite.
