Greens Growing Great

The oriental greens and radishes I planted in a half wine barrel with the umbrella greenhouse are ready to eat.  This photo was actually taken March 23.  The greens were starting to bolt so I had to take the greenhouse off and leave them to sweeten up in the cool air. Now they are ready and deliciously spicy!

That looks tasty! So the umbrella greenhouses work pretty good? Where did you get yours?

Hi Laura, they work better than I could have imagined. I bought mine from various places, Amazon.com Craigslist, and at garden sale. Last year and I used them to create a hothouse for my tomatoes, peppers and eggplants last summer, then to extend my crops in the fall, then for some winter gardening (spinach) and now for spring greens and radishes. I do love them.

Must admit I’ve never even heard of an umbrella greenhouse. And obviously, they work well.
