Oh So Pinteresting!

Hey! Look who is on the Pinterest Blog? Stephanie Mushroom Hunting from Garden TherapyRead the interview here.

I was thrilled to be asked for a Pinterview from my absolute favorite addiction, Pinterest. I started Pinning years ago and immediately fell in love. Didn’t we all? I mean if you have ever created a scrapbook, dream board, or heck a Post-It Note, you know that Pinterest made it, like, a million times easier to save things you find online for later. Right-clicking? See ya. Bookmarks? Yeah right.

I know I’m not the only one. There are 70 million people using Pinterest and it has completely changed how we interact online. Recipes are searched for on Pinterest not cookbooks. Homes are decorated from inspiring pins not ripped out magazine pages. Weddings are planned in front of the Pinterest newsfeed. There are hilarious Craft Fails and Pinterest Addiction to remind us that everything we see online is not always as simple as it seems. But it gets us to try. And dream. And curate boards the suit our style.

It was such an honor to have my Pinterest boards noticed. If you follow me, you will know I have lots of garden-y crafty boards. They are a great way to look through the projects and recipes you will find here on Garden Therapy.

One of the questions I was asked in the interview was about why I use group boards on Pinterest. I didn’t realize it until I answered but it is a global extension of the sharing that was once done from gardener to gardener, from mom to mom, from woman to woman. I now have a world of healthy recipes, craft ideas, and gardening tips at my fingertips.

If you love gardening, then here are my favorite gardeners to follow. It’s a diverse group that is sure to appeal to just about any style.

  • I love Melissa @EmpressOfDirt.net for her creative and frugal take on gardening. She pins plenty of cost-saving gardening tips and loves showing off junk repurposed into quirky garden art.
  • Janit Calvo is the author of Gardening in Miniature and she runs a Two Green Thumbs Miniature Garden Center. Her boards will have you perplexed in whether you are looking at a backyard or a mini garden.
  • Hailing from the Isle of Man, Tanya @ Lovely Greens has great gardening boards but also a collection of boards on DIY bath and beauty products from the garden.
  • Helen Weiss if the designer behind Unique by Design Landscaping & Containers. Her boards showcase her modern, clean aesthetic with a healthy dose of botanical eye candy.
