Sarah – I’ve always called it the Cone of Shame too! I suppose because it is meant to keep them from licking themselves for various reasons. Well my grouchy old cat is wearing it because he keeps scratching at his ear and making it bleed. Cone of Shame.
Aerelonian – he’s irritated that he can’t scratch his ear, but overall he doesn’t mind it so much. At first, he would get stuck on walls and furniture and cabinets, etc. He tends to hug the wall as he walks around the house and I never realized how close until I would find him stuck on a door frame or chair due to the cone.
Pride is very important to him so with the cone his is extra sucky and just wants me to carry him around all day. But, being a giant cat, he’s not that easy to carry around. I kind of just sling him over my shoulder in the fireman’s hold and go about my business until my back and arms can’t take it any longer.

Animals hate that! My dog went crazy for days thrashing around. Hopefully it doesn’t have to stay on too long!

Oh, poor baby! The dreaded cone-collar. :( Hope he’s all well soon and you can get rid of that thing.
