I just wanted to let you know that Lee Valley Tools also makes a Pop-Up Net Shelter (35″x35″x20″ tall) that helps shield plants from heavy rain, birds and insects. It comes in a zipper pouch that makes it great for storing flat or hanging. The cost is $9.50.

Jan – Nope, not rain umbrellas – they are made for this purpose and I bought them at a garden sale. The zippered windows are for venting or reaching in (although that doesn’t really work)

Are these actual rain umbrellas? They almost look specially made for this purpose! I have the barrels, now I just need to get some clear plastic pop up umbrellas. It looks like they have little zipper compartments on the side so you can reach your arm in, but I’m guessing that’s not what that is?
