Diversity and Accessibility Statement

I garden, live, and work on the on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.

I acknowledge that plant medicine and herbalism comes by way of the African, Asian, and Indigenous Peoples. I am grateful for the knowledge they have passed down through generations and those who have been generous enough to share with the world.

Garden Therapy is a BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ friendly space. I believe that Black, Trans, and Indigenous Lives Matter and will not tolerate disrespect of any person based on race, gender, sexual orientation, or ability. I actively work to amplify the voices of those who share important messages of inclusion, diversity, and combating the climate crisis.

As a person who uses gardening to live with a physical disability and C-PTSD, I want the Garden Therapy website and all content to be accessible to folks of all abilities so that they may find the joy of gardening and plants. If there is anything on the site that is causing difficulty or concern, please reach out to me at hello@gardentherapy.ca so I can make it right.

We are all constantly learning and evolving. There so much more work to be done in order to make the world and gardening community an inclusive place. Let’s do this together, with love.
