I have been trying to make a western desert theme for my indoor cactus gardens. I have been looking for years where to find miniature steer head, coyotes, snakes, etc. to put in the gardens. Would you know where I can find these items.? I’d appreciate any info you might think would give me ideas as to where else to look. Thank you for your time. Karen in Yakima, WA.

You are an inspiration! I am currently on matleave with my 3rd and for this baby, I have started gardening – in pots. I planted 20 rununculus bulbs and it has sprouted recently! I have gladiolus and added a few more! I bought 2 peonies white and pink and hope that when I transplant them to a bigger pot that the roots won’t be too disturbed. I bought 2 phals hoping to rebloom them after this bloom. I plan to make a hanging strawberry basket, a container of wave petunias and potato vine, some begonias for my east side shady patio. And I am happy that my geranium from 2 yrs ago and last year are still alive and have flowers budding!! Oh and i planted 4 more dahlias! Oh it makes me happy ! Thank you! This book will be lovely to have and a great gift for baby #3. I hope he would have the love for nature like I do and so are my 2 other kids!

My husband is helping me reorganize our garden to make it simpler to take care of and more visually pleasing. My daughter has started 70 some tomato plants, she is 14 and a fanatic tomato lover. She will give many away and plant the rest in our garden! Thanks for all your inspiration!

Your book looks like fun! I’ve made a birdhouse for my garden and decorated the potting bench that my hubby made for me. We love to grow some of our own veggies and I have mostly perennials in the beds that surround our patio.

Lovely! Your book looks wonderful! I haven’t made too many things for the garden aside from the structural- I made the fence and gate that encloses our garden space, protecting it from our digging blue heeler. I also made a little wind chime out of an old broken wind chime that had lovely metal leaves for the chimes that I tied onto a branch and have hanging on the fence. It is so much fun adorning our favorite place to be!! I would love to make more art for our garden!

I used an old door to create a colorful gate into my garden. I painted it turquoise and hung a welcome sign on the door. I also put a grapevine deer beside my door and hung a sign on his neck that said no deer allowed. My mail lady loved it. She is always looking to see what I do next she says.

I made raised beds for my garden (Saskatchewan) using cindercrete blocks. I found the blocks on Kijiji, and the seller even delivered them, all for about 1/3 of the cost of purchasing new ones. We leveled the ground, covered with large pieces of cardboard, stacked the blocks 2 high & filled with triple mix. The beds are now on their 4th summer. The only thing I would do differently is to make sure to slightly angle the blocks towards the inside of the bed. After 3 winters some are starting to shift a bit. I might look at filling the holes with gravel as well if it is in your budget. Once you have had your bed in place for a season or two and know that you are happy with the location & size you could fill the holes with concrete.
Your book looks great. I would love to win a copy of it.

this book looks amazing! i love to make wreaths with anything from my garden: hydrangeas, dried roses and peonies….herbs. i also enjoy making flower arrangements with the bounty…for two years i have done the flowers for weddings and had to raid my garden to make boutonnieres, bouquets and table decorations. my next foray will be making those amazing look-like-cement planters for succulents. thank you for the chance to win this book!

I am also commenting to let you understand what a exceptional experience
our girl gained visiting the blog. She picked up a good number of things, most notably what it is like to have a wonderful teaching
mindset to have folks without hassle know just exactly several problematic
issues. You actually surpassed her desires. Thanks for
offering the valuable, trusted, edifying and even cool tips on that topic to Gloria.
