Thank You to Garden Therapy’s Partners!

New things are blowing in the wind here at Garden Therapy. We’ve been working with some more incredible partners this year than ever before, and I want to tell you what has sparked this change.

The Website Traffic Problem

Over the past couple of years, website traffic has dropped about 80%. While there may be many factors explaining this, the biggest is that AI has become the norm.

Google scrapes content to answer questions directly on the page, so you no longer have to click on websites to get answers to your questions.

Websites use AI to increase their output, publishing articles every day—whether they’re fact-checked and authentic or not.

For Garden Therapy, we’re a very small team. Everything is written 100% by a human, based on firsthand knowledge and experience. We’re the real deal over here! See more on the gardening AI problem in this post.

Competing for views on Google while trying to remain authentic has been hard, which is why we’re so so thankful for the generosity of our partners as we evolve with the times.

Getting By With a Little Help From Our Friends

If you’ve been following my journey at all, you might know that I recently made a major move. It’s been one year now since I moved into my new home. It’s the first time I’ve owned a home on my own as a single parent, and it’s certainly been an experience!

I bought a 100-year old house in need of renovations. Not just renovations to make it look pretty, but significant repairs for safety and livability. Especially modification like stable stairs, railings, and sturdy handrails as my mobility is a daily challenge.

Of course, I have also been renovating the yard. Big, big jobs. Jobs there is no way I could do on my own. I’ve had contractors, friends, fellow Master Gardeners, landscape designers, and even Kiddo to help me.

In addition to enlisting some muscle to raise this barn, I also needed some products to bring it together. And partners to help me share the story.

That’s where the sponsors come in.

Meet the Garden Therapy Partners

With the loss of traffic comes the loss of income, and the last thing I want to do is shut down Garden Therapy for good. It started as a passion project 15 years ago, and I want to continue sharing this passion even as the digital world is changing.

I lived in my previous home for a decade, and by the time I moved, my garden was established and didn’t need any help from sponsors. But that’s a completely different story for this new place.

I reached out to some of my favourite companies and brands to tell them about my big backyard project, and many were enthusiastically supportive of it. I’ve started working with a couple of brands and I’m quite excited to be working with them.

And I want to give them a little bit of a shout-out!

FlowerBulb.eu

Flowerbulb.eu and I have worked on many posts together, inspiring those around the world to plant spring and summer flowering bulbs in their garden. I mean, who doesn’t love the burst of colour from a flower bulb?

Most recently, they teamed up with me to help me plant my spring bulb lawn. It’s only had one season so far, and boy, did it deliver! These bulbs were the first step in transforming my neglected front lawn, and they made my home an instant stopping point on the street for anyone who passed by.

See more of how I planted my front yard bulb lawn in this post.

I have more work with flowerbulb.eu on the horizon, so keep your eyes posted!

West Coast Seeds

I’ve long been a fan of West Coast Seeds, and I’m so lucky to live close to their headquarters in the Lower Mainland. They’re one of the best places to get vegetable, flower, and lawn seed.

Most recently, I used their alternative lawn mix to grow my wildflower lawn!

Yes, it really is that beautiful in person. After the bulbs have finished blooming, the wildflowers take over and give me the most beautiful display. Seriously, everyone on my block can’t stop talking about how gorgeous my front lawn is. It’s a real star of the renovation.
