This coming Saturday is your chance to check out The Modern Home Tour, which gives area residents the opportunity to explore the inside and outside of some of their neighbour’s coolest modern homes. From 11AM to 5PM on Sept. 14th, tourgoers will visit 7 private residences throughout the Vancouver area, designed by some of the area’s finest architects.

One of things I love the most about visiting open houses is the opportunity to see the gardens. Some designs take the whole lot into account (as they should!) and treat the landscaping as part of the overall living space. 
One stop on the tour, Geometric House in North Vancouver with Architecture by One SEED Architecture + Interiors, has a beautiful indoor/outdoor transition as you can see gardens that compliment the interior from the many large window.
Another home, 2880 West 20th Ave in Vancouver designed by Campos Leckie Studio, shows the incorporation of exterior space as part of everyday living with a beautiful south facing modern patio (shown above), lawn-free landscaping, and a side yard that is as attractive from inside as it is outside.
