Did you know that my book, Garden Made: A Year of Seasonal Projects to Beautify Your Garden and Your Life, is available at your favorite bookstores? How exciting!
Crafting from the garden doesn’t need to be limited to just one season—this is what I hoped to show in the four chapters of Garden Made. No matter what the season, the garden is there for you, to fuel your creativity and inspire you to create something beautiful.
(PS: if you see Garden Made or you make anything from the book please tag it #gardenmade so I can share!)
In fall you can decorate your table with ornamental gourd candles, collect acorn caps for felted acorn magnets or ornaments, or make a harvest wreath with seedpods, herbs, and flowers (and even some garlic!) that will dry and preserve on your front door.
As winter comes, there are projects for supporting beneficial insects, gardening indoors, and welcoming the holidays.
Spring offers a fresh new take on garden making! There are seed crafts, plant tags, and projects for backyard birds.
And before long it will be summer again. The book projects include solar lanterns and an outdoor chandelier, plenty of succulents, and fun with concrete!
Today is the day for Garden Made and every day is the day for garden-making. I hope that you find something that inspires you to dig in a try a project or two. It’s good for your body and can make a big difference to your day. Parcel off an hour for a little garden creativity and you’ll see what I mean.
There are many projects in the book that are also well-suited as gifts, so if you are looking for ideas for handcrafted treasures to delight your loved ones, you’ll find much inspiration and straightforward instructions.
