Remember when I went to the Hometalk Milner Gardens event where Donna of Funky Junk Interiors had a demo on making a pallet wood tool box?
Well that day I bought one of the kits that Donna had put together to make my very own garden tool box!
The kit was really cute, all pre-cut and Donna helpfully showed me how to put together.
There were options too. Like whether to use the branches for the handles. I choose not to use the branches (I have another project in mind for those!) and instead opted to add these cool industrial looking fittings as handles.
I still really love the ones that Donna had on display. She has a great tutorial on FJI if you want to make your own.
I decided not to put tools or plants in mine, but instead use it as a carrier for my Citronell CANdles which I light and place all around the garden. This trug makes it easy to set them out then collect them all again at the end of the night. To make your own check out How to Make Citronella Candles.
This is indeed a lovely tool box, kudos to you for your imagination and Dona for helping you create all this. You never fail to pleasantly surprise me with your wonderful innovation.
A whole bunch of great ideas all packed into one post! Donna’s kit is awesome – love it! Your industrial handles – oh yah, that’s what I’m talking about! And your idea to use this for toting your candles to and fro, genius! Thanks for sharing, Stephanie!
PS – dying to know what you’re using the branches for instead!
Great tool box and it looks perfect for carrying your candles around.
