Green Tea Terrarium

This project is just one of the fabulous projects from Kat Geiger’s brand new book, Terrariums Reimagined: Mini Worlds Made in Creative Containers. This full-color craft book shows you how to make and maintain 24 playful plant environments in unique containers. You can create an arid desert with cacti in an old light fixture, plant colorful succulents in an unused fish tank, or craft a tropical island in an empty rum bottle.

Easter Basket Fairy Garden

Easter Basket Fairy Garden

Looking for a fun family project for Easter to get in a little Garden Therapy? You are in luck! Today we have a guest post from Beverly Turner one of the co-authors of Fairy Gardening: Creating Your Own Magical Miniature Garden. The book covers just about anything you wanted to know about fairy gardening, a type of miniature gardening in containers or right in the ground. Little worlds created with tiny plants, furniture, and little creatures makes them whimsical and, without a doubt, a lot of fun. Today Beverly has shared the perfect fairy garden for the season as it’s contained in an Easter basket!

A Kitschy Kitchen

Feeding and fostering a healthy relationship with food can be a complex thing with young children. Finding ways and strategies to make meals interesting can sometimes be challenging, but when you find something that works, run with it.

For us it was a book, Pumpkin Soup. It was about friendship, responsibility and sharing. The unifying element was food. From peeling the pumpkin and putting it into the pot to stirring the soup and adding the salt, everyone had a job to do. But when that fell apart and they couldn’t share, the soup was all wrong. My kids loved this story and because of that, I started making pumpkin soup for them. Having something that they could identify with and that we could talk about made it much more approachable.

DIY bottle vase painting project

Painted Bottle Vases

Hi there Garden Therapy readers! I’m Hanna from Pearls and Scissors and I’d like to share a recycling project with you. I’m a huge fan of killing multiple birds with one stone, and this DIY project is no exception. I had a pile of jars and glass bottles that I wanted to put to better use and a dire need for vases, so I created some simple jar and bottle vases with glass and ceramic paint.
